Valentina is 8 years old from David Gorodock in the Stolin District of Belarus.
Our partner is Stolin District Disabled Organisation.
In 2005 we supplied Valentina with a disabled buggy, she told us her one wish was to learn to walk.
In 2006 she visited us with her mum and we had a purpose built walking frame made for Valentina by the David Hart Clinic.
2007 Valentina revisited the David Hart Clinic and had her walking frame adjusted. The clinic were delighted with her progress. Thank you to Trowbridge Lions for buying her her new boots.
2008 A futher visit to the David Hart Clinic, more adjustments and instructions. Great progress Valentina can now sit upright with out aid and can hold her weight on her legs.
August 2008 An appiontment has been made for a further visit for more training and adjustments. We look forward to Valia's return.

Dear Anne and Henry
With a big "hello" and lots of best wishes we write to you from the whole Jakimovich family.
We are doing OK, Valia (Valentina) uses her walking boots with pleasure, but sometimes Ilya (3 year old brother) gets in her way, so I have to keep an eye on her all the time.
All our family and friends are very happy and so greatful to you for Valia's walking boots. They are glad that Valia can walk on her own now. She is moving around the house and developing her legs. Very often Valya and Ilya take each others hands and dance to music.
Valya remembers you and talks about you with pleasure.
Its new year soon but we have puddles and mud every. Autumn dosen't let winter come in.
I have a request for you please pass on the cards enclosed with Christmas wishes to our other friends (Robin, June and George). The thing is I do not have their addresses.
